How to Complete the LIHEAP Application Online

You can find the application on the Community Services and LIHEAP web pages. Follow these steps to complete the process:

Step 1: Include Required Documents

  • Gather all required documents listed on the Green sheet (for English applicants) or the Purple sheet (for Spanish applicants).
  • Be sure to have these documents ready to upload during the application process.

Step 2: Enter Your Personal Information

  • Fill out all fields with your personal information.
  • Social Security Number (SSN) Section:
    • Enter each digit of your SSN individually into the 9 boxes provided.
    • One number per box only. For example:
      • If your SSN starts with “10,” input ‘1’ in the first box and ‘0’ in the second box.
      • Entering “10” in a single box will result in an error.

Step 3: Enter Household Members

    • If there are more than 6 people living in your household:
      • Write the household members’ information on a separate piece of paper.
      • Upload this document to the “Household Members” page (which appears next).

Step 4: Household Demographics & Income

  • When completing the household demographics section, if there are no household members in a specific category (e.g., Ages 0–2), you must enter “0” for that field.

  • Similarly, if the total gross monthly income for all household members does not include a specific category (e.g., Pension), you must enter “0” in that field.
