The Shunammite Place: Empowering Lives, Ending Homelessness

The Shunammite Place, a supportive housing program under the Community Action Partnership of Madera County (CAPMC), offers supportive housing for chronically homeless individuals and families. Funded by the Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) and supervised by the Community Services Program Manager, Shunammite Place is dedicated to helping residents achieve self-reliance and economic independence. Our comprehensive services focus on encouraging residents to overcome homelessness, improve their mental and physical health, and achieve their personal goals, fostering a brighter and more stable future for all.

Our Structure

We follow the Housing First model, which prioritizes getting individuals off the streets and into stable housing without imposing strict prerequisites. This approach aims to reduce barriers and provide immediate shelter.

Our Model

We are client-centered and focused on safety and affordability. Conveniently located near public transportation, health services, and other resources, we promote independent living.

Our Goal

We are committed to assisting all participants in breaking the cycle of homelessness. We provide support for both mental and physical health, helping residents achieve their daily goals.
